Detailed Review
The BLACK+DECKER LHT2220 20V MAX Cordless Hedge Trimmer offers home gardeners a cordless option for maintaining yard bushes and hedges. Powered by a 20V MAX battery system, it eliminates tangled power cords while providing the reach needed for standard landscape upkeep.
At the center of the design is a 22 inch steel dual-action blade engineered to cut branches up to 3/4 inches thick. The dual-action blade movement reduces vibration by up to 40 percent compared to single-action blades, which reduces fatigue during longer trimming sessions. A wrap-around front handle combined with a soft grip, full-length trigger allows comfortable operation when switching between horizontal topping and vertical shaping.
Because the hedge trimmer comes with a 20V MAX battery and charger included, it is ready to use right out of the box. A single full charge delivers enough power to trim up to 3,000 square feet of actual hedges. It also integrates into the broader 20V MAX power system for users who already own compatible tools.
The primary limit is runtime and branch capacity. With coverage up to 3,000 square feet per charge, larger yards with extensive hedges may require pausing to recharge or keeping additional batteries ready. In addition, branch capacity tops out at 3/4 of an inch, meaning thick tree limbs will require heavy-duty cutting tools.
Verdict: The BLACK+DECKER LHT2220 is a practical choice for homeowners who need a lightweight, low-vibration trimmer for routine shrub care. Its wrap-around control handle and included battery make it ideal for keeping small to medium properties tidy without hassle.
