CRAFTSMAN Hedge Trimmer, 22" Corded with POWERSAW Branch Cutter, 3.8-Amp (CMEHTS8022)

The CRAFTSMAN CMEHTS8022 is a corded electric hedge trimmer designed for homeowners who need a reliable tool to maintain overgrown bushes and hedges. Powered by a 3.8-Amp motor, this unit provides consistent electric output without relying on batteries or gas fuel, making it suitable for standard yard cleanup tasks.

At the heart of the trimmer are 22-inch dual-action blades that offer smooth cutting motion across wider plant surfaces. For standard trimming, it handles branches up to 3/4-inch thick cleanly. When encountering heavier growth, the built-in POWERSAW feature allows you to cut through branches up to 1.5 inches thick. Additionally, the full bale handle provides a comfortable grip that helps you maneuver the trimmer easily around the sides and tops of plants.

As a corded power tool, its range is limited by your extension cord, requiring access to an electrical outlet while working. Additionally, while the built-in branch cutter manages 1.5-inch limbs, larger tree branches exceed its capacity. The product details also do not specify total weight or included cord length.

Verdict: This CRAFTSMAN trimmer is a practical choice for homeowners who want direct corded electric power with the versatility to cut both standard hedge foliage and thicker 1.5-inch branches. It suits anyone seeking simple hedge maintenance without managing batteries.
