DEWALT 20V MAX 22" Cordless Hedge Trimmer, Bare Tool Only (DCHT821B)

The DEWALT DCHT821B 20V MAX 22-Inch Cordless Hedge Trimmer provides a portable yard care solution for homeowners managing dense bushes and overgrown hedges. Designed for the DEWALT 20V MAX system, this tool eliminates power cords while providing the reach needed for shaping standard landscape plantings.

At its core, a high output motor drives laser-cut, 22-inch hooked tooth blades capable of severing branches up to 3/4 inches thick. The hooked tooth blade design helps hold foliage in place while cutting to deliver clean lines. To protect internal components during heavy use, an integrated friction clutch guards the transmission against impact damage if the blade encounters stubborn resistance or hidden obstacles.

Physical handling is enhanced by a design that is 39 percent more compact, helping reduce strain on your arms during extended overhead work. The trimmer provides up to 78 minutes of runtime on a single charge. However, because this is sold as a bare tool only, buyers will need an existing DEWALT 20V MAX battery and charger or must purchase them separately.

Verdict: This cordless trimmer is an ideal choice for property owners who already own DEWALT 20V MAX batteries and need a compact tool for routine hedge maintenance. Its combination of a 3/4-inch cut capacity, transmission clutch protection, and extended runtime makes quick work of medium to thick hedge branches.

• Blade Length: 22 inches
