DEWALT 5 Gal 4 HP STEALTHSONIC Shop Vacuum Wet and Dry DXV05S-QTB

The DEWALT STEALTHSONIC DXV05S-QTB is a 5-gallon wet and dry shop vacuum designed for woodworkers, DIYers, and homeowners who need reliable cleanup capability without excessive motor noise. Powered by a 4 HP motor, this shop vacuum tackles liquid spills, sawdust, and general workspace debris, making it a versatile tool for garages, basements, and job sites.

The defining feature of this model is its STEALTHSONIC quiet motor technology, which runs 50 percent quieter than previous DEWALT shop vacuum models. This motor innovation also extends the overall operational runtime up to 900 hours, giving the unit a long service life. The vacuum utilizes a 5-gallon stainless steel tank that enhances overall durability against impact and damp conditions while offering enough capacity to handle moderate cleanup jobs with fewer pauses to empty.

Maneuverability is straightforward thanks to four 360-degree swivel rubber casters that glide smoothly over hard surfaces, paired with a large ergonomic top handle for lifting. Reach is provided by a 10-foot power cord combined with a 7-foot durable hose and two extension wands. DEWALT includes an extensive assortment of accessories in the box, featuring a floor brush, utility nozzle, crevice nozzle, round brush, tool adaptor, washable cartridge filter, foam filter, six disposable dust bags, and an accessory storage bag to keep everything organized.

There are a few trade-offs to consider based on the physical specifications. The 10-foot power cord may feel short when working in large open spaces, requiring you to use an extension cord or relocate to a different outlet. Furthermore, while the 5-gallon capacity keeps the build compact and easy to store, high-volume cleanup tasks will require emptying the stainless steel drum more often than a larger shop vac. The product listing also leaves out exact decibel measurements and overall weight numbers.

Verdict: The DEWALT STEALTHSONIC 5-gallon vacuum is ideal for anyone looking to reduce noise in their workspace without sacrificing wet and dry suction power. Its robust stainless steel tank, smooth-rolling rubber casters, and generous accessory set make it a solid choice for home workshops and daily cleanup tasks.
