Dyson Gen5outsize Cordless Vacuum, 250AW, 3 Power Modes, Up to 140 Minutes,² XL bin, Illumination Reveals dust, HEPA Filtration, All Floor Types

The Dyson Gen5outsize Cordless Vacuum brings heavy-duty cleaning power to a cordless format designed specifically for large homes. With 250AW of suction power and a design built around efficiency, it tackles deep cleans on all floor types without tethering you to a wall outlet. It is ideal for households with large floor areas or pet owners who need consistent performance across carpets, hard floors, and furniture.

Cleaning efficiency is driven by the Digital Motorbar XL cleaner head, which is 25 percent wider to cover more ground on every pass. Combined with a bin that is 150 percent larger than standard models, you can vacuum extensive areas without stopping constantly to empty debris. The cleaner head automatically de-tangles wrapped hair as you go, while the included Hair screw tool uses a conical brush bar to clear pet hair from car seats, stairs, and pet beds fast.

Operation is straightforward thanks to three distinct power modes. Auto mode intelligently adapts suction power based on the floor type underfoot, balancing cleaning strength and battery life. Eco mode prioritizes runtime for longer sessions, while Boost mode delivers max power for intensive spot cleaning. The integrated LCD screen keeps you informed by displaying the selected mode, maintenance alerts, and remaining battery runtime down to the exact second.

Because this model features a larger format with an expanded bin and wider cleaner head, it naturally carries more bulk than compact stick vacuums. Converting the unit to a handheld configuration adds flexibility for overhead or furniture cleaning, but the larger body remains noticeable. Additionally, whole-machine HEPA filtration traps 99.99 percent of particles as small as 0.3 microns, which keeps fine dust contained inside the machine.

Verdict: The Dyson Gen5outsize is a strong match for homeowners with expansive layouts who want high-capacity cordless cleaning. Its wide cleaner head, large bin, and hair-clearing tools reduce cleaning time across multiple floor types. If you need powerful cordless suction for heavy household duty, this model delivers the necessary features.
