EGO MHC1603 Multi-Head Combo Kit 16-Inch 56-Volt Carbon Fiber String Trimmer with POWERLOAD™ & 8-Inch Carbon Fiber Edger Attachment & 56-Volt Power Head, 4.0Ah Battery and 320W Charger Included

The EGO Power+ MHC1603 Multi-Head Combo Kit combines a 56-volt power head with two specialized yard care attachments: a 16-inch string trimmer and an 8-inch edger. Designed for property owners who need to trim tall grass and cut crisp lines along sidewalks or driveways, this battery powered system offers a versatile alternative to maintaining separate gas powered equipment.

The included 16-inch string trimmer attachment relies on POWERLOAD technology to streamline one of the most frustrating parts of lawn care. Rather than manually threading and winding spool line, you simply feed the line through the trimmer head and press a button to load it automatically in seconds. Both the trimmer and edger attachments feature carbon fiber shafts that provide structural strength while keeping overall tool weight manageable.

The carbon fiber edger attachment utilizes an 8-inch edger blade guided by an integrated wheel. A depth adjustment knob allows you to select customized edging depths up to 3 inches, making it straightforward to establish crisp borders along driveways, walkways, and garden beds. The main power head houses a high-efficiency brushless motor that reduces operating vibration and extends overall tool life. Operation is managed through a digital two-speed selector with speed indicators, alongside a variable-speed trigger equipped with a lock-off lever for safety.

When planning yard tasks, keep in mind that runtime varies significantly by tool attachment and speed setting. The included 56V 4.0Ah ARC Lithium battery offers up to 45 minutes of continuous operation with the string trimmer, whereas edging on low speed extends runtime up to 75 minutes. Additionally, while the IPX4 weather-resistant build protects against splashes, switching between trimming and edging requires changing attachments on the single power head rather than picking up a separate tool.

Verdict: The EGO Power+ MHC1603 combo kit is a practical choice for homeowners wanting a quiet, weather-resistant yard maintenance system. With push-button line loading, carbon fiber construction, and dual-function capability, it suits anyone seeking reliable edging and trimming without gas hassle.
