Eureka Upright Vacuum Cleaners, PowerSpeed Lightweight, NEU181A

The Eureka PowerSpeed NEU181A is a bagless upright vacuum cleaner designed for homes with multiple floor types and pets. Weighing just 10 pounds, it offers a portable solution for clearing debris off hardwood, tile, area rugs, and wall-to-wall carpeting without straining to move between rooms or carry it up stairs.

At the heart of the vacuum is a 960-watt motor that delivers consistent suction across hard floors and carpets. To handle different floor textures, a 5-height brush roll adjustment dial lets you quickly set the cleaner head higher for plush carpeting or lower for bare tile and wood. This manual control helps prevent the brush roll from scattering debris or bogging down on thick rug fibers.

Debris collects in a generous 2.6-liter dust cup, which reduces the frequency of trips to the trash bin mid-clean. When it is time to empty, the dust bin features a quick flip-to-empty design that releases dirt from the bottom without requiring paper bags. For above-floor messes, the vacuum comes equipped with three onboard accessories: a Pet Turbo Brush for furniture and stairs, a crevice tool for tight gaps, and a dusting brush.

While the feature set covers everyday home cleaning, there are a few practical trade-offs to keep in mind. The height adjustment must be selected manually whenever you change floor surfaces. Additionally, the provided details do not specify the length of the power cord, the presence of specialized filtration, or noise levels, so buyers requiring specific filtration ratings may need to look closer.

Verdict: The Eureka PowerSpeed NEU181A is a solid match for homeowners and renters who want a lightweight upright vacuum with strong motor power and pet tools. Its large dust bin and multi-surface height settings make it a practical choice for daily housewide cleaning.
