Detailed Review
The Kenmore Intuition Bagged Upright Vacuum combines full-sized upright cleaning performance with a detachable canister pod for versatile home care. Designed for households tackling mixed flooring, stairs, and pet shedding, it addresses common frustrations like hair wrap and messy dust cup emptying. At 14 pounds, it balances sturdy upright performance with lightweight portability when detached.
Flexibility is a key strength of this vacuum. Pressing a button releases the main body into a lift-up pod, making it simple to take 120-volt, 120-watt suction up staircases or above floor level. On carpets and hard floors, the swivel steering system helps navigate around furniture legs and low obstacles. The hair eliminator nozzle constantly strips tangled hair off the brushroll while cleaning, keeping the floorhead clear without manual intervention.
For debris management, the vacuum relies on a self-sealing, bagged setup. The no-touch bag technology allows you to eject full bags directly into the trash with a single button push, avoiding cloud-ups and dirt contact. Inside, PowerFlow double-wall bags preserve airflow so suction stays consistent as the bag fills. A completely sealed HEPA system traps 99.97% of dust inside the unit, while the included Pet Handi-Mate attachment targets embedded fur and dander on upholstery.
While bagged systems keep dust contained, they do require purchasing replacement bags periodically rather than simply emptying a reusable cup. Additionally, while the 14-pound frame is manageable for an upright unit, carrying the full assembly may feel noticeable during extended overhead sessions if not using the lift-up pod mode.
Verdict: The Kenmore Intuition is a practical choice for pet owners and allergy-conscious households seeking strong filtration and low-mess disposal. Its dual-mode design and self-clearing brushroll make it a versatile workhorse for multi-floor homes.
