Shark PowerDetect Corded Stick Vacuum, Self-Cleaning, Eggplant, HZ4002

The Shark PowerDetect Corded Stick Vacuum (model HZ4002) is designed for homeowners looking for automated floor cleaning without worrying about battery runtime. Weighing under 10 pounds, this eggplant-colored upright stick vacuum combines continuous corded power with intelligent sensor technology, making it suitable for households with pets, mixed floor types, and tight storage spaces.

At the core of the vacuum is a smart sensor system that actively responds to your cleaning environment. The Floor Detect ultrasonic sensor identifies whether you are moving across hard floors or carpets, automatically adjusting brushroll speed for optimal pickup. Meanwhile, Direction Detect senses whether you are pushing forward or pulling backward, directing suction appropriately in both directions. The DuoClean two-brushroll design works together with a self-cleaning brushroll that actively prevents hair from wrapping around the roller, saving you from manual hair removal.

For homes with pet owners or allergy sufferers, the vacuum features an Anti-Allergen Complete Seal paired with a HEPA filter, trapping 99.99 percent of dust and non-living particles down to 0.3 microns inside the unit. Integrated Odor Neutralizer Technology works alongside the filtration system to guard against unpleasant smells inside the vacuum while cleaning. It also comes equipped with an assortment of tools, including a Pet Power Brush, Upholstery Tool, Crevice Tool, an Odor Neutralizer cartridge, and an onboard storage clip to keep accessories organized.

While the corded design ensures uninterrupted cleaning power, it does mean you are tethered to an electrical outlet and must manage a power cord as you move from room to room. Additionally, maintaining the odor neutralization feature requires using designated replacement cartridges, though the listing does not state how often these need to be replaced. The compact stick profile is lightweight, but users needing a massive dust bin capacity should keep its slim build in mind.

Verdict: The Shark PowerDetect HZ4002 is a versatile pick for pet owners and multi-surface homes that need intelligent suction control and reliable allergen trapping. If you prefer continuous corded power over battery management and want a stick vacuum that stands up on its own, this model is a practical fit.
