Detailed Review
The Shark ZU561 Navigator Lift-Away Speed is a lightweight upright vacuum designed for homes with pet hair and mixed flooring. It combines standard upright floor cleaning with a detachable pod system to tackle both ground-level dirt and above-floor mess.
A self-cleaning brushroll actively removes hair wrap as you clean, making pet hair pickup hassle-free. For cleaning stairs, upholstery, or tight spots, detaching the Lift-Away pod gives you portable reach along with the included extra tools. The built-in Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology paired with a HEPA filter captures over 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the unit. Swivel steering and an adjustable suction slider allow smooth navigation when switching from hard floors to thick carpets.
Keep in mind that while the unit inside the box is the ZU561, the included user manual is labeled for the ZU560 series, though the instructions remain accurate for both models. Additionally, the bagless dust cup requires regular manual emptying after cleaning sessions.
Verdict: The Shark ZU561 is a practical choice for pet owners who need versatile floor-to-ceiling cleaning without hair wrap hassles. Its dual upright and portable modes make it well suited for multi-surface homes requiring dependable allergen filtration.

FAQ
How does the Lift-Away mode help with above-floor cleaning?
You can detach the canister pod from the main upright body to transition into portable Lift-Away mode. This allows you to carry the vacuum comfortably while using the included extra tools to clean stairs, tight spaces, and furniture upholstery.
How does this vacuum handle pet hair and carpet transition?
It features a self-cleaning brushroll that picks up pet hair without hair wrap around the roller. Additionally, a suction control slider lets you adjust suction power, while swivel steering helps you maneuver between hard floors and carpets.
Why does the manual state ZU560 series when the box contains the ZU561?
The included manual covers the general ZU560 series, which is fully accurate for both the ZU560 and ZU561 models. Although the booklet lists the series name, the product in your box is the ZU561 vacuum.
