Detailed Review
The MODOFO Cordless Electric Pruning Shears automate repetitive garden trimming, taking the strain off your hands when clearing thick branches or sculpting greenery. Powered by a 450W brushless motor, this handheld tool handles routine backyard maintenance, orchard care, and heavy branch clearing without requiring manual effort.
At the heart of the tool is an SK5 steel blade system featuring two selectable cutting width settings: a smaller 0.98 inch opening for light foliage and a maximum 1.4 inch capacity for thicker stems. A built-in LCD screen keeps critical data visible while you trim, showing your current cut count and real-time battery status so you can pace your work and plan recharges without unexpected shutdowns.
Power is supplied by two included 2000 mAh rechargeable batteries, each requiring only 1 to 2 hours to charge and offering up to 4 hours of continuous operation. The package also includes a dedicated carrying box, power adapter, instruction manual, two small wrenches for setup, and a sharpening stone to keep the cutting edges clean. To conserve power between uses, an intelligent sleep mode turns the pruner off when idle, which reactivates quickly with a double-press of the smart trigger.
While the tool offers strong cutting performance, maintaining the cutting edge requires using the included sharpening stone periodically as the SK5 blade wears. Additionally, safety mechanisms require double-pressing the trigger upon power-up and after sleep mode, which adds a short operational step before cutting begins. The maximum 1.4 inch cutting diameter also limits its use on larger tree limbs.
Verdict: The MODOFO Cordless Electric Pruning Shears are a solid choice for gardeners needing consistent power and reduced hand fatigue during branch clearing. With dual batteries, an informative LCD counter, and two cutting width settings, this kit provides everything required for extensive yard maintenance.
