WORX 20V 12" 2-in-1 Cordless String Trimmer & Electric Lawn Edger, WG163

The WORX WG163 20V 12-Inch Cordless String Trimmer and Lawn Edger combines two essential lawn care duties into a single lightweight tool weighing 5.5 pounds. Designed for homeowners looking to trim overgrown grass and shape clean borders around walkways, this battery-powered tool eliminates the hassle of pulling starter cords or managing extension cables. It suits anyone maintaining routine suburban lawns who wants quick conversion between trimming grass and edging hard surfaces.

Transitioning between tasks takes only seconds as the head rotates to convert from a standard string trimmer into a wheeled lawn edger. For edging work, rubberized support wheels roll along driveways and sidewalks to guide straight cuts. The cutting head also tilts 90 degrees, allowing you to trim along sloped terrain or underneath low-hanging obstacles like decks and patio furniture. To prevent accidental damage to garden beds, an adjustable spacer guard keeps the cutting line away from flowers, foliage, and lawn ornaments.

Line management is handled through a push-button command feed system that advances line instantly when pressed, eliminating the need to bump the head against the ground. The package comes equipped with two 20V maxLithium batteries, a 20V charger, a trimmer spool, support wheels, and a safety guard. Because the batteries belong to the WORX Power Share family, they can be swapped into any other 20V or 40V WORX outdoor power or lifestyle product.

While the tool offers flexibility, there are a few practical considerations based on its specifications. The 12-inch cutting diameter and 0.065-inch line size are tailored for light to moderate grass trimming rather than thick brush or dense weeds. Additionally, the manufacturer listing does not state the exact battery runtime in minutes or charging time, so long trimming sessions might require alternating between the two included batteries.

Verdict: The WORX WG163 is a practical choice for suburban property owners who want an easy-to-handle tool for basic grass trimming and lawn edging. Its dual-function design, push-button line feeding, and included twin batteries make it a convenient addition to any routine yard care setup.
