CRAFTSMAN V20 String Trimmer and Lawn Edger Kit with 4Ah Battery and Charger, 13 in. Cordless Weed Wacker with Up to 63 Minutes Runtime, Lightweight (CMCST901M1)

The CRAFTSMAN V20 String Trimmer and Lawn Edger Kit (CMCST901M1) provides a cordless solution for clearing overgrown grass and tidying yard borders. Powered by an included 4.0Ah battery, this tool suits homeowners looking to maintain lawn edges and clear thick grass without dealing with power cords or gas fuel.

The trimmer features a 13-inch cutting swath that clears wide patches of grass in single passes. Using the built-in Turn-To-Edge functionality, you can switch the tool between standard grass trimming and vertical lawn edging. A two-speed control switch allows you to dial in maximum cutting power for dense grass or conserve battery life during lighter maintenance tasks.

To support comfortable operation, the unit includes an adjustable handle that lets you tailor the tool height to your posture. The included 4.0Ah V20 battery offers up to 63 minutes of continuous runtime depending on operating speed, and the kit comes complete with a dedicated charger and a pre-loaded spool with 0.065-inch cutting line. Because it belongs to the CRAFTSMAN V20 battery ecosystem, the battery swaps across other compatible V20 tools.

While the included 0.065-inch line handles typical lawn trimming, thick vegetation might cause line wear faster than heavy-duty line diameters. Additionally, achieving the maximum 63-minute runtime requires running the tool on its lower speed setting rather than full power mode.

Verdict: The CRAFTSMAN CMCST901M1 is a practical, versatile choice for homeowners needing a single battery-powered tool for lawn trimming and edging. Its dual speed controls and adjustable handle make it easy to adapt to different yard conditions and user heights.
