DEWALT STEALTHSONIC Wet Dry Shop Vac 6 Gallon 5 HP, DXV06P-QT

The DEWALT STEALTHSONIC DXV06P-QT is a 6 gallon wet dry shop vacuum powered by a 5 HP heavy duty motor, built for tackling tough cleanup jobs in workshops, garages, and home project areas. Wet dry vacuums are essential for picking up coarse debris, sawdust, and liquid spills that standard household vacuums cannot handle, making this unit well suited for DIYers, woodworkers, and tradespeople who need reliable suction without excessive noise.

Noise reduction is a defining feature of this model. Operating at 50 percent lower sound levels than the prior version, the StealthSonic motor delivers high suction and airflow while maintaining a quieter working environment. In addition to lower noise, the motor design offers three times the operating lifetime compared to the earlier model, ensuring consistent output across demanding tasks over extended use.

Handling and reach are designed for practical efficiency. The unit combines a 10 foot power cord, a 7 foot hose measuring 1-7/8 inches in diameter, and two extension wands to provide over 17 feet of total cleaning reach. Rubberized 360 degree casters roll smoothly across surfaces without leaving scuff marks, while large lid latches and a water-resistant power switch add protection and convenience during heavy use. Storage is also straightforward thanks to a dedicated hose strap and accessory bag.

While the 6 gallon capacity balances portability with debris storage, users handling massive liquid floods or extensive construction cleanups may find themselves emptying the bucket more frequently than with larger 12 or 16 gallon shop vacuums. Additionally, while the 17 foot total reach is convenient for standard rooms, a 10 foot power cord means an extension cord will likely be needed for expansive outdoor spaces or large job sites.

Verdict: This shop vac is ideal for homeowners, woodworkers, and contractors who want heavy duty suction power without the loud whine of traditional shop vacuums. Its combination of quiet motor tech, non-marring wheels, and comprehensive accessory kit makes it a versatile pick for medium sized cleanup projects.
