Detailed Review
The DEWALT STEALTHSONIC DXV05P-QT 5 Gallon Wet Dry Shop Vac is designed for homeowners, woodworkers, and jobsite workers who need reliable mess cleanup without intense operational noise. Powered by a 4 Peak HP motor, this compact vacuum handles both liquid spills and dry sawdust, dirt, or debris in garages, workshops, and vehicles.
Noise reduction is the standout feature of this model. Built with STEALTHSONIC technology, the motor delivers suction performance while dampening sound levels significantly compared to traditional shop vacuums. That makes it easier to work in enclosed spaces or home garages without disrupting surrounding areas. The 4 Peak HP motor provides suction power across various surfaces, relying on a washable cartridge filter and disposable dust bag for dry material, plus a foam filter for liquid spills.
Portability and attachment versatility add to its daily utility. The 5-gallon tank offers a balanced capacity that stays manageable to move around vehicles, tight jobsite areas, and home workspaces. The included 7-foot hose with a 1-7/8-inch diameter pairs with two extension wands to clean overhead areas or under workbenches. The accessory kit comes equipped with a floor brush, utility nozzle, crevice nozzle, and tool adapter, all of which store inside a dedicated accessory bag for organized transport.
As for trade-offs, the 5-gallon capacity requires more frequent emptying during large-scale cleanup jobs compared to higher-capacity shop vacs. Additionally, the seller specifications do not list the power cord length or overall unit dimensions, so plan your workspace outlet reach accordingly.
Verdict: This quiet shop vacuum is ideal for DIYers and professionals who want capable wet and dry suction in a portable format. It is particularly well suited for garage and indoor workshop environments where noise control matters.
