Dyson V15 Detect™ Origin Cordless Vacuum

The Dyson V15 Detect Origin Cordless Vacuum is designed for whole home deep cleaning across multiple floor types. It tackles standard dirt, hidden dust, and tangled pet hair using intelligent suction adjustment and specialized cleaner heads. This stick vacuum suits homeowners who need a versatile cleaning tool for floors, furniture, and hard to reach spaces without being tethered to a wall outlet.

At the heart of the vacuum are two distinct cleaner heads. The Fluffy Optic cleaner head reveals invisible dust on hard floors while remaining gentle on delicate surfaces. For carpets and mixed flooring, the Digital Motorbar cleaner head deep cleans dirt while automatically de-tangling long hair and pet hair as you work. The machine also monitors debris levels and floor types to adjust suction power on the fly, optimizing both cleaning performance and battery efficiency.

Monitoring your cleaning session is straightforward thanks to the built in LCD screen. It displays a real time breakdown of picked up particles, current power modes, maintenance alerts, and remaining run time calculated down to the second. To maximize battery usage, a power trigger ensures energy is only consumed when you actively pull it. When you need to clean furniture, stairs, or vehicle interiors, the unit quickly converts into a handheld vacuum and works with the included crevice tool to clear tight spaces.

There are a few trade-offs to keep in mind before buying. Because energy management relies on a manual power trigger, you must press it continuously during operation, which might feel tiring during longer cleaning sessions. Additionally, while the system features advanced whole machine filtration that traps 99.99 percent of particles as small as 0.3 microns, the listing does not state the exact dustbin capacity or overall unit weight.

Verdict: The Dyson V15 Detect Origin is a strong choice for households needing a high power cordless vacuum with specialized heads for both hard floors and carpets. Its particle detection and handheld conversion make it ideal for detailed whole home maintenance. Buyers who prefer a simple push button switch rather than a held trigger may want to weigh that ergonomic choice.
