EGO POWER+ Chain Saw, 12" Battery Powered Chainsaw, Electric Cordless, Includes 56V 2.5Ah Battery and Charger - CS1201

The EGO Power+ CS1201 is a 12-inch battery-powered cordless chainsaw bundled with a 56V 2.5Ah ARC Lithium battery and charger. Built for homeowners tackling light-duty brush removal and limb work, it replaces gas-powered tools without sacrificing cutting performance. Its high-efficiency brushless motor reaches chain speeds up to 20 m/s, matching the output of a 30cc gas engine.

In practice, the 12-inch bar features a 3/8-inch pitch and 0.043-inch gauge chain with 45 drive links designed for clean cuts through branches and small brush. The included 2.5Ah battery provides enough power to complete up to 130 cuts on 4x4 posts on a single charge. Built-in tool-free chain tensioning allows you to quickly adjust the bar and chain tension without carrying extra tools.

Maneuverability is a major focus of the design. At 8.4 pounds with the battery installed, the chainsaw is lightweight to help reduce arm fatigue during longer yard work sessions. For added flexibility within the EGO system, the saw is designed to work directly with 56V ARC Lithium batteries rated up to 5.0Ah.

Because this model features a 12-inch guide bar, its size limits it primarily to light trimming and limb work rather than heavy tree felling. Additionally, while it supports EGO 56V ARC Lithium batteries up to 5.0Ah, batteries larger than 5.0Ah are not listed as compatible. The listing also does not state specific oil reservoir capacities or included chain lubricants.

Verdict: This cordless chainsaw is an ideal match for homeowners who need a lightweight tool for trimming branches and clearing brush. It delivers gas-equivalent cutting speeds and tool-free adjustments in an easy-to-manage 8.4-pound package. Anyone looking for hassle-free limb work without mixing gas will find this kit well suited to the job.
