EGO POWER+ Chain Saw, 18" Battery Powered Chainsaw with Battery - CS1815

The EGO Power+ CS1815 battery chainsaw brings gas-like cutting capability to homeowners and landowners who need to fell trees, clear fallen timber, or cut large limbs without dealing with gasoline or pull cords. Powered by a 2500W high-efficiency brushless motor, it matches the cutting output of a 50cc gas engine while relying entirely on an electric platform.

At the heart of the tool is an 18-inch bar equipped with a 3/8-inch low-profile, 0.50-inch gauge chain containing 62 drive links. With chain speeds reaching up to 22 m/s, it cuts smoothly through thick wood. The included 56V 6.0Ah ARC Lithium battery provides enough power to execute up to 330 cuts on 4x4 posts per charge. When the battery drains, the included EGO Power+ CH3200 charger fully replenishes it in 80 minutes.

Everyday operation is straightforward thanks to built-in digital monitoring and tool-free maintenance. A color display mounted on the saw shows real-time information, including cut speed, battery charge level, LED work light status, and safety brake position. If the chain slackens during heavy cutting, you can tighten it simply by turning an onboard dial without pulling out wrenches. An adjustable LED work light illuminates the cut zone when working in low-light conditions or emergencies.

While performance is robust, buyers should keep a few practical considerations in mind. Recharging the high-capacity battery takes 80 minutes, so continuous heavy clearing might require a spare battery if you cannot wait during recharges. Additionally, the manufacturer does not specify the dry weight of the tool or the capacity of the chain oil reservoir in the listed specifications.

Verdict: The EGO Power+ CS1815 offers impressive battery-powered cutting performance for property owners managing storm cleanup, tree removal, and wood cutting. It is an ideal pick if you want gas-level power combined with digital status tracking, easy dial tensioning, and battery cross-compatibility across the EGO 56V tool family.
