Greenworks 40V 21" Brushless Cordless (Self-Propelled) Lawn Mower (75+ Compatible Tools), 5.0Ah Battery and Charger Included

The Greenworks 40V 21-Inch Brushless Cordless Lawn Mower is a battery-powered walk-behind mower designed for homeowners who want to maintain their lawn without gas, oil, or exhaust emissions. Powered by an included 5.0Ah 40V battery, this self-propelled mower offers push-button instant starting and quiet operation, making routine yard maintenance straightforward and clean.

At the core of the machine is a high-efficiency brushless motor housed under a durable 21-inch steel deck. The motor provides extra torque for cutting while keeping noise down during operation. To ease physical effort on uneven yards, the mower features a rear wheel drive self-propelled system that improves traction across tough backyard terrain. The included 5.0Ah battery and charger deliver up to 45 minutes of run-time on a full charge, though actual runtime varies based on grass condition and operator technique. The battery is also compatible across more than 70 tools in the Greenworks 40V system.

Versatility is built directly into the cutting system. The 3-in-1 design gives you the option to mulch, use side discharge, or collect grass clippings in the rear bag. A single height-adjustment lever allows quick switching between 7 different cutting positions to match seasonal lawn needs. When mowing is finished, the unit can be stored vertically, which saves 70 percent more storage space compared to standard horizontal parking.

While the electric power head eliminates gas fill-ups and oil maintenance, there are a few practical limits to note. The 45-minute maximum run-time depends on grass height and thickness, so heavily overgrown lawns will consume battery power faster. The listing also does not state the exact physical weight of the steel-deck mower or specify the precise speed controls for the self-propelled drive system.

Verdict: This Greenworks 40V self-propelled mower is a practical choice for homeowners seeking a low-maintenance, zero-emission yard tool. Its 3-in-1 cut options, 7-position height adjustment, and vertical storage design make it a convenient addition, especially for those already building out a 40V tool lineup.
