Husqvarna 130L Gas String Trimmer, Trimmer Head, 18-Inch

The Husqvarna 130L Gas String Trimmer is a straight-shaft lawn care tool designed to reach awkward lawn corners, fence lines, and tight edges that lawn mowers cannot access. Powered by a 28-cc gas engine operating at up to 8,000 rpm, this weed eater delivers continuous cutting force over an 18-inch wide cutting path, making short work of tall grass and weeds across residential properties.

Starting a gas engine can often be frustrating, but the 130L incorporates several mechanisms to streamline ignition. An Air Purge system clears trapped air from the carburetor and fuel lines prior to pulling the cord, while digital ignition ensures consistent spark delivery across varying weather conditions. Additionally, the Smart Start engine and starter mechanism reduce physical pulling effort, and the automatic stop switch resets to the on position so the trimmer is immediately ready for the next pull.

Trimming line management is equally streamlined using the Rapid Replace head. Instead of taking apart the spool assembly, users line up the head, insert new string, and twist to reload. For longer working sessions, the ergonomic handle placement and LowVib anti-vibration technology help absorb engine movement before it reaches your hands and arms, reducing physical fatigue during routine lawn maintenance.

As a dedicated gas powered machine, the Husqvarna 130L does require basic fuel handling and carburetor purging before startup. The straight shaft layout provides long reach into tight spaces, though it creates a longer overall footprint when storing the tool in a shed or garage.

Verdict: The Husqvarna 130L is a solid choice for homeowners seeking a gas-powered string trimmer with a wide cutting path and effortless starting features. Its low-vibration construction and quick string reloading make it ideal for tackling hard-to-reach lawn areas with minimal physical strain.
