Detailed Review
The Sebo 9855AM Dart Upright Vacuum Cleaner brings German-engineered suction and adaptable floor care to busy households, pet owners, and allergy sufferers. Built around a detachable 12-inch ET-1 electric powerhead, it combines the deep cleaning of a traditional upright with the versatility needed for above-floor surfaces and tight spaces.
At the core of its floor performance is a four-level manual height adjustment system that transitions smoothly between hard floors and carpeted rooms. The powerhead features an L-shaped extension side and a slim 6-inch clearance profile, allowing it to slide beneath lower cabinet edges, counters, and furniture frames. Smooth rubber wheels keep floor surfaces safe from scuffs during passes. If the brush roller encounters a jam, a safety system automatically stops the roller and illuminates a red warning light to protect the motor, belt, and flooring. Cleaning or replacing the roller requires no tools, keeping maintenance fast and straightforward.
For above-floor cleaning, the integrated instant-use hose pulls out immediately to clean corners, baseboards, and furniture. When you need portability for car interiors or stairs, removing the powerhead converts the Dart into a handheld suction unit equipped with a side handle for balanced carrying. Air filtration is handled by an S-Class system that removes over 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns, trapping dust and pollen inside a 0.92-gallon hygienic Aerapure bag for mess-free replacement.
While the bagged design ensures clean disposal without dust clouds, it does require keeping replacement bags on hand over time. The product listing also does not state specific details like power cord length or total unit weight, so shoppers looking for lightweight cordless convenience will want to factor that into their decision.
Verdict: The Sebo Dart is an exceptional choice for homes with mixed flooring types and residents who need high-level allergen filtration. Its tool-free upkeep, convertible design, and robust motor protection make it a durable, long-term cleaning investment.
