Shark PowerDetect Corded Stick Vacuum, HEPA, Pet Hair, Purple, HZ4001AMZ

The Shark PowerDetect Corded Stick Vacuum HZ4001AMZ combines heavy-duty cleaning capability with a lightweight design weighing under 10 pounds. Built for homes with mixed flooring and pets, this corded vacuum delivers fade-free suction across carpets, rugs, and hard floors without stopping for battery recharges. It also converts into a handheld unit to tackle stairs, furniture, car interiors, and tight spaces.

Cleaning across different floor surfaces is handled by the DuoClean Detect system. Two brushrolls work alongside sensors that adjust brushroll speed based on floor type and whether you are moving forward or in reverse, capturing fine dust, large debris, and embedded dirt. For pet owners, the self-cleaning brushroll uses hair-wrap prevention technology to clear hair while you clean, avoiding stubborn tangles on the roller.

The slim profile reaches under low furniture, assisted by LED headlights that illuminate hidden dust and debris in dark areas. Air filtration features an Anti-Allergen Complete Seal paired with a HEPA filter that traps 99.99 percent of dust and non-living allergens down to 0.3 microns. An integrated Odor Neutralizer cartridge helps keep exhaust air fresh, while the freestanding structure allows the vacuum to stand upright on its own for compact storage.

Because the unit relies on corded power, cleaning range is limited by access to wall outlets, and managing the power cord requires attention while navigating around furniture. Additionally, the dust bin is smaller than those on traditional upright vacuums, requiring more frequent emptying, and the odor control cartridge will need periodic replacement over time.

Verdict: This corded stick vacuum is a solid choice for apartment owners and pet parents who want consistent suction power without managing battery life. Its automated floor sensing, self-cleaning brushroll, and HEPA seal make daily cleaning efficient and low-maintenance.
