Shark PowerDetect Cordless Stick Vacuum, Java Ice Blue, IP1255

The Shark PowerDetect Cordless Stick Vacuum IP1255 delivers strong suction and automated cleaning adjustments for households tackling everyday mess across multiple floor types. Built to streamline routine home care, this cordless model removes the hassle of switching nozzle heads or manually tweaking power levels as you move from room to room.

The core of the vacuum is its 4X intelligent detection system, which senses hidden dirt, edges, floor type changes, and cleaning direction. As it detects debris, corners, or carpets, it automatically boosts suction power where it is needed most. The redesigned DuoClean Detect nozzle houses dual brushrolls that grab debris on both forward and reverse passes, accelerating floor coverage while effectively picking up hair and dirt.

Convenience extends to physical reach and storage through Shark's MultiFLEX technology. The wand bends at a central joint to glide under low-clearance furniture like beds and sofas, reducing physical strain. After cleaning, the stick folds over into a compact shape for easy flex storage. Power is supplied by a battery yielding up to 70 minutes of runtime, and the vacuum includes a crevice tool alongside a FurFins tool for tighter spaces and pet hair pickup.

Some operational limits follow from the specifications. The headline 70-minute runtime is measured in ECO mode at the handvac level, so operating in Boost mode or using the floor nozzle continuously will shorten run time. Furthermore, this model represents a larger financial investment than basic stick vacuums and comes with two bundled accessories rather than an extensive attachment suite.

Verdict: The Shark PowerDetect IP1255 is ideal for buyers looking for top-tier cordless suction paired with automated power adjustments and flexible under-furniture reach. It offers a practical, high-performance solution for keeping entire homes clean with minimal fuss.
