Shop-Vac 5971536 5 Gallon 4.5 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vacuum with Blower Function

The Shop-Vac 5971536 5 Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum provides utility cleanup performance for projects around your home, garage, workshop, and vehicle. Powered by a 4.5 peak horsepower motor, it tackles tough jobs that standard household vacuums cannot handle, ranging from sawdust and dry debris to damp sewage and standing liquid spills. Its compact 5-gallon tank offers enough capacity for everyday messes without creating a bulky footprint.

This model features a 3-in-1 design that handles dry suction, wet pickup, and air blowing. By attaching the hose to the blower port, the unit converts into a 60 CFM air blower that lets you clear leaves from steps or blow dust off outdoor patios. For detailed cleanup work, the vacuum comes equipped with a 10-inch wet/dry nozzle, a gulper nozzle for general debris, and a narrow crevice tool for tight spaces. Three extension wands are also included to help you reach overhead areas or low floors without straining.

Mobility and overall reach make this wet/dry vacuum convenient during extended cleaning tasks. The machine features a bottom caster system alongside top and side carry handles, allowing you to wheel or lift it effortlessly between rooms. With a 7-foot hose and a 6-foot power cord, the system provides over 13 feet of total cleaning reach. It also comes complete with three filtration options: a standard cartridge filter, a disposable filter bag, and a foam sleeve designed for wet pick-up.

While the 13-foot combined reach works well for small spaces, the 6-foot power cord means you may need an extension cord when working across larger garages or outdoor driveways. The 1-1/4-inch diameter hose is sized for standard debris like wood chips and dirt, but smaller than industrial high-volume hoses. Additionally, the listing does not state whether the unit includes wall-mounting hardware or specialized car detailing brushes beyond the crevice nozzle.

Verdict: The Shop-Vac 5971536 is a reliable pick for homeowners, DIY hobbyists, and vehicle owners who need a versatile vacuum for wet and dry messes. Its combination of strong suction, built-in 60 CFM blower function, and portable caster base makes it a practical addition to any workshop or garage.
