Detailed Review
The WORX WG745 40V 17-Inch Cordless Lawn Mower is a lightweight electric mower designed for homeowners with small to midsize yards up to a quarter acre. Powered by twin 20V 4.0Ah batteries, it eliminates gas engine maintenance, oil changes, emission smells, and power cord restrictions. It provides a convenient alternative for suburban lawns where maneuverability and easy storage are priorities.
Cutting performance relies on a brushless motor 2.0 paired with Intellicut technology, which automatically scales cutting speed up or down based on grass density. This smart adjustment optimizes both cutting power and battery runtime during operation. You can monitor remaining power at any time using the on-board battery display, while a single height lever allows quick adjustment across six distinct cutting positions.
The mower features a 2-in-1 discharge system that lets you mulch clippings back onto the lawn or attach the rear bag for easy collection. At just 40 pounds fully assembled, the slim deck design cuts close alongside fences, flower beds, and garden borders to reduce extra trimming work. When lawn care is finished, the collapsible handles fold down completely for flat or vertical storage.
While the cordless setup delivers lower noise and zero emissions, coverage is designed for properties up to 1/4 acre on a single charge. Yards larger than a quarter acre may require recharging the batteries to complete the cut. In addition, the 17-inch deck path requires extra passes compared to wider full-size mowers.
Verdict: The WORX WG745 is a practical, low-maintenance solution for small to midsize lawns. Its lightweight frame, smart motor control, close-cutting deck, and space-saving storage make routine yard care simple and hassle-free.
