WORX Cordless Lawn Mower, 40V 17" 2-in-1 Grass Mower for 1/8 Acre, WG743

The WORX WG743 40V 17 Inch Cordless Lawn Mower provides a clean, low-noise alternative to gas mowers for small residential lawns up to 1/8 acre. Powered by two 20V 4.0Ah batteries working together, this push mower eliminates pull cords, gas mixing, and routine engine upkeep. It suits homeowners who want a straightforward yard tool that is lightweight, compact, and simple to start with a push button and bail handle pull.

In daily operation, the mower relies on Intellicut technology to manage battery consumption automatically. The onboard sensors monitor grass resistance, speeding up the blade when encountering dense patches and slowing down in thinner turf to stretch overall runtime. Setting up your cut is fast thanks to a single lever that adjusts the 17-inch deck through 7 height settings ranging from 1.5 inches to 4 inches. At just 35 pounds, the mower moves easily along narrow walkways and up mild slopes without straining your arms.

Versatility is built into the deck design, which supports both mulching and bagging. You can insert the included mulch plug to leave fine grass clippings on your lawn or attach the 1.2-bushel collection bag, which features a full indicator to show when it needs emptying. The handle folds down completely for compact upright storage in tight garage spaces or sheds. In addition, the included 20V 4.0Ah batteries belong to the WORX PowerShare system, meaning you can swap them into compatible power tools and outdoor equipment across the platform.

While the lightweight design makes handling simple, this is a manual push model without a self-propelled drive system. Its 17-inch deck width and battery setup are tailored specifically for properties up to 1/8 acre, so larger yards will require extra battery swaps or recharging. Additionally, the 1.2-bushel grass bag requires frequent emptying if you choose to bag fast-growing grass instead of using the mulch plug.

Verdict: The WORX WG743 is a practical choice for small-property owners who prioritize quiet operation, quick push-button starting, and lightweight maneuverability. If your yard is under 1/8 acre and you want hassle-free trimming without gas maintenance, this 40V mower fits the bill.

How does the Intellicut feature work?
Intellicut uses built-in sensors to monitor grass density. It automatically increases blade rotation speed when cutting through thick grass for a cleaner cut, then lowers the speed in thinner areas to save battery power.
