Detailed Review
The DEWALT DXV06PL-QT STEALTHSONIC 6-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum tackles tough workshop messes without the disruptive noise typical of standard shop vacuums. Powered by a 4 Peak HP motor delivering 85 CFM of airflow, this vacuum handles sawdust, heavy debris, and liquid spills with equal ease. Its lightweight construction and compact 6-gallon capacity make it a practical pick for homeowners, DIY enthusiasts, and woodworkers who need reliable suction in noise-sensitive spaces.
Noise reduction is the standout feature of this model. Utilizing DEWALT STEALTHSONIC technology, it runs at just 65 dB, which is 50 percent quieter than traditional shop vacuums while providing a motor lifespan three times longer than standard models. Cleaning reach is equally practical, offering 17 feet of total range via a 10-foot power cord, a 7-foot by 1-7/8-inch hose, and two extension wands. Maneuvering around workbenches or vehicles is made easy by durable casters and an ergonomic top handle.
Out of the box, the vacuum comes equipped with an extensive kit of attachments. You get a floor brush, crevice nozzle, utility nozzle, and a tool adaptor for connecting to power tools. Filtration options include a cartridge filter for dry dust, a foam filter for liquid pickup, and a disposable filter bag to simplify dry disposal. All loose attachments can be neatly stored inside the provided accessory bag to prevent items from going missing around the shop.
While the feature set is broad, there are a few practical trade-offs to keep in mind. The 10-foot power cord is relatively short for covering expansive garage floors without switching outlets, though the 7-foot hose helps offset this constraint. Additionally, while the 6-gallon drum is easy to carry and store, high-volume cleanup jobs will require more frequent emptying compared to larger capacity models.
Verdict: The DEWALT DXV06PL-QT is an ideal choice for woodworkers, car detailers, and homeowners who want capable wet and dry suction without high noise levels. Its quiet 65 dB operation and included accessory storage make it a smart upgrade for everyday shop and household maintenance.
