EGO Power+ Pole Saw for Tree Trimming, Cordless Electric Pole Saw with Telescopic LED Cut Line Indicator, Includes 56V 2.5Ah Battery and Charger - PS1001

The EGO Power+ PS1001 is a cordless electric pole saw designed to trim tall tree branches safely from the ground. Powered by the EGO 56V battery platform, it offers homeowners and property managers an efficient tool for clearing high limbs, shaping overgrown canopies, and handling routine yard maintenance.

At the heart of the tool is a telescopic carbon fiber shaft that extends total reach up to 13 feet, which can expand to 17 feet if you purchase the separate EP1000 extension pole. The shaft is protected by a limited lifetime warranty. Driving the cutting action is a high-efficiency brushless motor that moves the 10-inch bar and chain (1/4-inch pitch, 0.043-inch gauge) at chain speeds up to 20 m/s. An LED cut line indicator projects illumination onto your target, helping you place accurate cuts when working under thick tree cover or in dim daylight.

Convenience details help streamline operation during outdoor yard work. The included 2.5Ah battery delivers up to 100 cuts per charge, and because it is compatible with all EGO 56V ARC Lithium batteries, you can swap in larger packs from other EGO tools. Tool-free chain tensioning allows fast bar adjustments in the field, while the included quick-adjust handle and shoulder strap hook help maintain control and comfort during overhead cuts.

While the tool offers strong reach, hitting the maximum 17-foot extension requires buying the optional EP1000 pole separately. The listing also does not state overall unit weight or battery charge time, so buyers planning large all-day clearing projects may need extra 56V batteries on hand. Additionally, while tensioning is tool-free, standard chain maintenance is still required over time.

Verdict: The EGO Power+ PS1001 is a solid choice for homeowners who want clean, accurate overhead branch cutting without dealing with gas cords or ladders. Its LED guide, carbon fiber shaft, and tool-free adjustments make it well suited for routine tree care across medium to large properties.
