Sanitaire SC679K Tradition Upright Commercial Bagged Vacuum, Red

The Sanitaire SC679K Tradition is a commercial upright bagged vacuum built specifically for cleaning carpeted floors in high-traffic settings. Powered by an 800-watt motor rated for over 500 hours of performance, it suits facility managers, janitorial staff, and business owners looking for a direct, efficient carpet cleaner.

Key design choices focus on user comfort and operational efficiency. Weighing 12.2 pounds, the unit is light enough to transport across multi-story buildings without heavy strain. Its 30-foot commercial power cord provides an extensive reach covering up to 4,680 square feet of floor space from a single outlet, minimizing interruptions while working.

Maintenance features are tailored for rapid turnarounds. The 18-quart capacity shake out bag uses a metal clip release system to speed up emptying, holding significant debris before needing attention. Changing essential components is simple, as both the brush roll and belt can be replaced without tools. A durable polycarbonate hood adds protection against impacts in rough work areas.

As a trade-off, this vacuum is designed for commercial carpet cleaning rather than multi-surface home detailing. The specifications list no onboard tools, extension hoses, or hard floor attachments.

Verdict: The Sanitaire SC679K Tradition offers a dependable, low-maintenance solution for commercial carpet upkeep. It is best suited for cleaning staff who prioritize lightweight handling, a large bag capacity, and wide cleaning reach over versatile accessory kits.
