Dyson V8 Plus Cordless Vacuum, Cleans Hard Floors and Carpets, Detangles, Converts to Handheld, 115AW, 2 Power Modes, Up to 40 Minutes¹

The Dyson V8 Plus Cordless Vacuum offers a versatile cleaning solution designed to handle both hard floors and carpets. Delivering 115AW of suction power in a lightweight frame, it targets households looking to tackle everyday dust and hair build-up across multiple floor types without getting tied down by a power cord.

At the core of its design is the Motorbar cleaner head, which automatically de-tangles wrapped long hair and pet hair while you clean. The vacuum features two distinct power modes. Powerful mode provides up to 40 minutes of fade-free suction, balancing runtime and power for routine maintenance. For stubborn dirt or concentrated messes, switching to MAX mode provides intense spot cleaning performance.

Versatility extends beyond floor cleaning, as the machine converts into a handheld unit for stairs, furniture, and car interiors. It includes three standard attachments along with a specialized Hair screw tool, which uses an anti-tangle conical brush bar to clear hair from pet beds and car seats. Inside, advanced whole-machine filtration traps 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, ensuring cleaner exhaust air during operation. It also comes with a wall dock and charger, backed by a 2-year limited warranty and lifetime support.

While the feature set covers extensive ground, there are a few practical trade-offs to keep in mind. MAX mode delivers elevated suction but caps runtime at 5 minutes, making it suitable strictly for quick spot treatment. Additionally, the unit ships only partially charged, requiring a full charge before its initial cleaning session.

Verdict: The Dyson V8 Plus is an effective cordless vacuum for homeowners needing flexible cleaning on both floors and furniture. Its anti-tangle tool design and handheld conversion make it a strong option for pet owners and multi-surface spaces, provided the short MAX mode runtime fits your routine.
