Shop-Vac 6 Gallon Ultra Quiet Shop Vacuum Wet and Dry, 4.5 Peak HP, 5430541

The Shop-Vac 6 Gallon Ultra Quiet Wet and Dry Vacuum (model 5430541) delivers heavy-duty suction for tackling liquid spills and dry debris across garages, workshops, and commercial settings. Powered by a 4.5 peak horsepower motor, it addresses the common problem of noisy shop cleanup by offering low-noise operation for home and work environments.

As a member of the Whisper Series, this vacuum operates up to 60 percent quieter than standard models. That significant drop in volume creates a far more tolerable work environment during extended cleaning sessions or when operating in residential areas. The 6-gallon tank provides a functional balance, offering plenty of capacity for holding liquids, wood shavings, and shop grit without creating an oversized footprint.

Practical design features enhance overall usability on the job. The vacuum combines a 15-foot power cord with a 7-foot, 1-7/8 inch diameter hose, giving you 22 feet of overall working reach so you can clean large areas without constantly unplugging. Smooth 360-degree swivel casters allow the drum to follow smoothly as you move around equipment. For post-cleanup organization, the drum features an onboard tool holder and a built-in cord wrap to keep accessories and cables secure.

Some operational trade-offs are worth noting. Switching between wet messes and dry debris requires swapping out internal filters, using the included foam sleeve for liquids and the cartridge filter with a filter bag for dry pickup. Additionally, while the 7-foot hose provides good ground mobility, it may require holding the tank closer when reaching high overhead. The listing also does not state whether the tank features a dedicated liquid drain port.

Verdict: The Shop-Vac 6 Gallon Ultra Quiet vacuum is an ideal match for woodworkers, DIYers, and commercial workers who need capable wet and dry suction without excessive noise. Its compact 6-gallon size and rich set of nozzles make it a reliable workhorse for everyday shop maintenance.
