Detailed Review
The Sun Joe AJ805E 15-Inch Lawn Dethatcher and Scarifier offers a 2-in-1 solution for homeowners looking to clear dead grass and aerate their yards. Powered by a 13-amp motor, this machine targets built-up thatch and debris that can block nutrients from reaching your lawn's roots.
With a 15-inch working path and a dual-function reel system, it allows you to switch between dethatching and scarifying. You can adjust the working depth using a 5-position control lever, giving you precise management over how deep the blades cut into your lawn. The unit glides across grass on four durable wheels to keep pushing smooth and manageable during yard work.
To help keep your lawn clean, it features a spacious removable collection bag that captures pulled thatch and debris as you work. However, as an electric unit powered by a 13-amp motor, it relies on a continuous power source. The listing also does not specify the exact capacity of the collection bag or the overall weight of the tool.
Verdict: The Sun Joe AJ805E is a practical choice for homeowners who need to dethatch and scarify their lawns without buying separate tools. Its adjustable depth control and included collection bag make it a complete option for seasonal yard restoration.
