Greenworks 40V 16" Brushless Cordless Chainsaw, 4.0Ah Battery and Charger Included, Black/Green

The Greenworks 40V 16-inch cordless chainsaw provides a clean, battery-powered alternative to traditional gas saws for homeowners tackling yard cleanup, storm debris, and firewood cutting. Equipped with a 1.5kW brushless motor, a 4.0Ah battery, and a charger, this tool delivers practical cutting power without the hassle of fuel mixing, engine priming, or pull cords.

With its 16-inch guide bar, this chainsaw is engineered to manage heavy-duty yard work and cut through trees and limbs up to 28 inches in diameter. The 1.5kW brushless motor provides efficient power transfer for demanding tasks like splitting firewood and clearing fallen branches after storms. Because it runs on a 40V 4.0Ah lithium-ion battery, you get reliable runtime while avoiding the maintenance associated with gas engines.

User comfort and safety are central to the design. A simple two-step start gets the saw running quickly, while an integrated chain brake and low-kickback design provide critical control during operation. An ergonomic overmolded grip reduces strain during extended cutting sessions. Maintenance is kept simple thanks to an automatic oiler with a transparent view window and flip-up cap, paired with tool-free chain tensioning that lets you make chain adjustments in seconds.

When stored between seasonal projects, the included battery retains its charge for more than 12 months, making it ready for unexpected storm cleanup. The 40V battery also works across the broader Greenworks 40V lineup, adding extra value if you own other outdoor tools in the system. As a trade-off, you will still need to supply chain oil for the built-in automatic reservoir, and the battery system is specific to Greenworks 40V tools.
